 LITHOLOGICAL AND GEOLOGICAL  
 CHARACTERISTICS

 This marble of Middle Jurassic‑Lower 
 Cretaceous age is lithologically a
 limestone. It comes as concordantly  
 onto the sandstones of Lower Jurassic 
 at the basement. Upper Cretaceous
 flyschoidal sandstones, mans and
 limestones conformably overlie this 
 marble. Dry rose and pink is observed 
 as veins, lenses or patches in the
 pink‑beige background. Bilecik Pink,
 consisting of intraclasts made of 
 rounded and crystallised micritic
 calcite; and fossil remnants, is
 cemented with sparitic matrix.
