 | Name BURDUR BROWN MARBLE Location : BURDUR-YESiLOVA/GENCALi AND YARISLI VILLAGES LITHOLOGICAL AND GEOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS Mesozoic aged Burdur Brown is a brown limestone with calcite veins. Triassic aged limestones are found at the base. Upper Cretaceous aged ophyolitic melange is overlying it with tectonic contacts. In general; this marble is made up of calcite minerals of sizes varying between 1 micron and 4 microns. Sparicalcite with grain sizes 50‑300 microns has been observed in veins, fractures and voids.
